Cruise England Limited has been owned by David Dare for nearly 25 years. For the last 7 years Cruise England has not traded under its own brand but, with the purchase of the former Moonraker Canalboats widebeam boats, we have launched Cruise England in its own right.

David is one of the most experienced holiday hire operators in the UK, owning sister companies Oxfordshire & Wiltshire Narrowboats, Long Term Narrowboat Hire Ltd and Long Term Barge Hire, together with a partnership with Black Prince Holidays at two locations - all thriving under his ownership.

But he really wanted to expand – literally! Barges – or wide beam canalboats – offer so much more interior space for a modest increase in width, allowing for truly luxurious and spacious cruising. So, with wife, Caron, and a like-minded team of committed professionals – we have brought the former boats, founded and previously owned by Moonraker Canalboats, to our home, exclusively private, Burbage Wharf in beautiful Wiltshire.

We are determined to offer the very best levels of comfort and hospitality to be found on UK inland waterways. We have re-engined and upgraded all of the boats with a smart new livery and refreshed interiors to include wide-screen Smart TVs, contemporary furnishing, full 240v onboard power supply, Jacuzzi baths, solid fuel stoves, central heating…. and all the hotel extras that make your holiday truly special, from free toiletries, bath gowns & slippers to welcome drinks and a complimentary arrival hamper.
